Park Jimin, better-known mononymously as ‘Jimin, is the lead vocalist, and main dancer of the popular boy band BTS. Park Jimin is a South Korean K-pop artist, a singer, dancer, songwriter, and record producer. From award show stages such as billboard to Grammy, stadium tours, and concerts, the young man is known to uplift the audience with his songs, voice and dance moves.

Early Life

Jimin’s full name is Park Jimin. He is 25 years old. He celebrates his birthday on October 13 since he was born on the same day in the year 1995, in Geumjeong District, Busan, South Korea. His family consists of his mother, father, and younger brother.

Education

He attended Busan’s Hodong Elementary school and Yonsan Middle School. Since his childhood, Jimin loved dancing, and hence joined Just dance academy where he learned popping and locking dance. Likewise, Jimin also studied contemporary dance at Busan High School of Arts.

After he passed the auditions at Big Hit Entertainment, he got transferred to  Korean Arts High School where he finished his high school education in 2014 and is currently enrolled in Global Cyber University along with his bandmates.

Career and Professional life

Park Jimin loved dancing and singing from his childhood days. He so joined academies to study popping, locking dances as well as contemporary dances.

He passed the audition program conducted by Big Hit Entertainment and initially became a trainee there. Later, he debuted under the hip-hop boy band BTS on June 12, 2013, with the release of the single ‘2 Cool 4 Skool’ as a vocalist and dancer.

After debut, Jimin along with his bandmates have released hit albums one after another.

Furthermore,  Jimin has released three solo songs under Bts’s album, first being   “Lie” from the 2016 album Wings and secondly released “Serendipity”  in 2017, for BTS’ Album “Love Yourself: Her”. He recently released his new solo “Filter’ from the BTS album Map Of The Soul:7 in 2020. Jimin’s solo made him the only Korean act to have solo songs with over 50 million streams.

Jimin then has released his single song titled ‘Promise” in 2018 through the group’s SoundCloud. He received tremendous love and support for his songs. He made into the Biggest 24-hour debut Ever on SoundCloud, surpassing Drake’s record.  Warrior Youth. 

He has also so far released his covers of popular singles such as Mistletoe (Justin Beiber), We don’t talk anymore (Charlie Puth) with his fellow member Jungkook.

Park Jimin swept fans’ hearts with his soft mellow tone and artistic dance moves.  In 2018, Jimin with his fellow members received honors from the president of South Korea. They were awarded the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of the cultural Merit.

Together with BTS, he has won Billboards Top Social Artist Award three times in a row. Jimin with his bandmates won all four Daesang Award categories in Mnet Asian Music Awards. The Guinness World Records organization has also confirmed that Jimin along with his band, has broken three major records in total.
